The Guest role allows the creation of a temporary order to later, confirm and send the order using the current Internet connectivity of the device. When an order is confirmed and sent, the order is put in Closed status and appears in all other devices connected to the same business in the list of orders for further processing.

The characteristic of placing orders by guests can be enabled globally in the business profile from Configuration >> Business profile >> Order placement behavior and be inherited or overwritten on each device from Preferences >> Order management >> Order placement behavior.

Information icon4.svg It is important to note that an item has the option Allow adding to orders for Guest role that controls if an item will be available to be added to an order from Guest role.


Preferences >> Order management >> Order placement behavior also has the following options that are specific to each device:

  • Location of guest orders: defines the location assigned to all orders generated from the device by the guest.
  • Inherit behavior from current business: defines whether the parameters defined in business profile are used or if the defined parameters in Preferences >> Order management >> Order placement behavior are used instead for the given device.

Checking out of orders

A device can allow users to place orders by themselves, for this must be enabled the option Allow taking orders by guests in Configuration >> Business profile >> Order placement behavior or in Preferences >> Order management >> Order placement behavior.

When the feature Taking orders by guests is enabled, all items enabled for addition to a guest order will display a control to increase the quantity of the item in the order.

When the guest order contains at least one item, a shopping basket icon appears in the toolbar. By touching this icon, the checking out process of order begins which consists of the following steps:

Checking of items in the basket

This step includes:

  • Verification of the items in the order. The quantity of an item can be increased or decreased, also the item can be removed from the order if needed.
  • Edition of the details of the items. When tapping over an item in the list, the quantity of the item can be modified as well as the modifiers and a note.
  • Verification of the total of the order. At all times the total of the order can be verified.

Filling additional information

This step includes:

  • Show the Localizer of the order allowing to later locate the order from other devices.
  • Add a User identifier. This field allows the guest to enter a data that will be useful later to identify/verify the user.

  • Specify a date/time of delivery.

Checking the status of confirmed orders

The guest can follow up the status of their orders using the Order screen. Also it is possible to view the details of confirmed orders at all times.
